Why are heirloom tomatoes funny shaped?

they are probably the way tomates really are shaped. Heirloom tomatoes are the kind you can take the seeds from and plant them next year. There are so many hybrids of all vegetables that you get used to how they look, but you cannot plant the seeds because they will not reproduce.

not all heirloom tomatoes are
heirloom tomatoes are grown for TASTE instead of color and shape.

Obviously you've never gardened-any type of tomato can grow into odd shapes when they aren't mass produced on a factory farm.
