What kind of substrate is better?

I own two ball pythons and it's been very hard for me to decide which kind of substrate is better. My two choices are aspen and bark substrates. So what I really need to know is the good points of both and the bad points of both.

Aspen is too fine and can get into the nostrils of a snake leading to stress and infection. If it gets too damp then it gets smelly and mouldy.

FINE Orchid [Reptile] Bark

is an excellent substrate as it holds moisture well and contributes to a higher humidity in the vivarium. It is easy to spot-clean for faeces and urates, gives a good natural surface with traction for the snake to move on. Is long-lasting if spot-cleaned every 2 or 3 days.
Probably the best all-round substrate to use for most snakes.
