I've managed to grow seed pods on my orchids (wanted to see if I could) now seems a shame to waste them, how do I grow them?

Mix the seed with a ripe mashed up banana and sow into seed and potting compost. Keep warm and wait for at least a year before giving up.

Finding the seeds is not the hard part; that's the easy part. The hard part is orchid seeds don't tend to grow unless their favorite fungus is present and occupy the seed coat. The problem is that you have less chance to have seedling because orchid seeds don't have nutrient like normal other seed. They need special fungus to give nutrient during germinating process. You can give it a try which will work for you, as you know about it. It's better to germinate seeds in glass bottle/flask.

You pretty well need a laboratory - as you have to make sure each seed gets duly infected with the right type of fungus for them to germinate. Have a look at this article, which explains how it is done - I doubt you will be able to duplicate this at home.

Most growers will get a pod on their orchid at some stage and want to grow the seeds. This is not as simple as it might seem, but can be done. This article describes some of the options available to the home grower.
