What Tigress said. Exactly. The kid was walking home, when he was accosted by some tubbo, with a cop complex, late at night, who wanted to start some crap, about the kid not belonging on "his" turf.- I don't see why Trayvon was not entitled to defend himself from this total stalker and pest. I still haven't heard why Trayvon was even targeted by Zimmerman, other than .....he was black....Zimmerman didn't like his "looks"-.......and presumed he was "suspicious" . So is that all the reason I need to go hassle and kill people now?

Because he was black. I've been thinking the same thing for quite a while, and haven't seen a Q from any known con on this site about it. Zimmerman has some kind of learning disability, or mental illness, that caused him to follow that kid when he was specifically told not to do that. He was also packing a weapon when the real Neighborhood Watch says not to do that. That tells me that if it hadn't been Trayvon killed that night, it would have been some other kid wearing a hoodie, on some other night. Now the Zimmeister is hiding behind the very same law, after getting fat on the money that was donated to him - which he lied about not having at his bail hearing. What else is that chubby little cherub lying about? This is a cop wannabe that cannot be trusted. Why can't conservatives see that Tubby's story can't be trusted? He lied to a judge, what would stop him from lying to the cops just after he killed that kid?

This doesn't have anything to with conservatives or non conservatives.people who understand the case know it is not being tried under so called stand your ground laws. It is purely defended under self defense.

I was wondering that myself. Zimmerman was stalking Trayvon who was walking home therefore, anyone at his age walking alone would be scared. When Zimmerman said he was "attempting to subdue a suspect". Trayvon probably thought he was being attacked by a pervert and fought back. Anyone under those circumstances would have done the same. Zimmerman wasn't a cop so he had no right to try and detain anyone. Isn't stalking illegal in most states?

Because they do not understand that the stand your ground law also applies to people who do not have guns so you can hit someone and knock them down surprising them if someone with a loaded gun is following you and you are afraid they may shoot you.

probably the NRA sent their members letters "explaining" this case to them. cons supporting Zimmerman here have to be simply parroting something they were told to say. why would they give a hoot about this otherwise?

All Martin saw was a guy walking the same direction on a cell phone. Thus under Florida law stand your ground does not attach.

Apparently that does not apply to unarmed pedestrians who are being stalked by armed vigilantes.

Stand Your Ground doesn't cover you stalking the person. Zimmerman was the one that left his ground to pick a fight. This means the ground shifted to Martin who was being stalked. Picking fights by stalking doesn't equal standing your ground.

Because Martin was the attacker. he was not defending himself. Oh and in no place was Zimmerman quoted that he was "attempting to subdue a subject".
