Draw a valid conclusion from the given statements, if possible. the state whether your conclusion was drawn using the law of detachment or the law of syllogism. if no valid conclusion can be drawn, write no valid conclusion and explain your reasoning.

Ex1:
Given: If an angle is an acute, then the measure of angle is less than 90.
. . . . . .measure of angle A is less than 90.

Ex1:
Given: If an angle is an acute, then the measure of angle is less than 90.
. . . . . .measure of angle A is less than 90.
No valid conclusion can be drawn. The given statement is P => Q. It does not provide any information if we know Q.

Unfortunately "acute" is a definition so it is indeed the case that if an angle is less than 90? then it is acute. But they didn't give you that information.

A better example would be If it's raining, the sidewalk gets wet.
.....the sidewalk is wet.
Clearly we cannot conclude that it is raining. The lawn sprinkler might be on ;)
