Homemade lentil soup left out overnight, uncovered... Still safe to eat?

The soup was ready at around 9pm last night... Fell asleep on the couch and only covered it and put it in the fridge at 7:30am this morning. There is no meat or anything, just vegetables, lentils and broth.

Ingredients: carrots, celery, onion, garlic, chicken broth, can of diced tomatoes, can of tomato sauce, lentils ,water.

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't think there would be a problem, just heat it well before eating.

Homemade lentil soup left out overnight, uncovered... Still safe to eat?

We often leave pure vegetable soup and other things (all vegan) out overnight, either so the pot can cool before putting it in the fridge or freezer or out of neglect of putting it away. Even though you used chicken broth, it should be fine. As my husband and I joke, "There's only one way to find out." (We're often the guinea pigs before letting our four-year-old and 15-month-old eat it. My very picky mother-in-law would instantly throw it away.)

Yeah, I do it purposely like that all the time. As long as it was covered, it probably remained hot for a couple of hours anyway.

Chicken soup is the best obviously. Nothing is beating it.

i would think you would be ok to eat it, just make sure you heat it till is really hot, that will remove anything nasty. but should be fine

The chicken broth makes that a non-starter. You'll have to throw it out. Sorry...
