The Shades of Green Nursery in San Antonio, TX has a recipe for weed killer: Products: Orange oil/vinegar mix (2 ounces orange oil per gallon of 20% vinegar plus 1 tbsp. of molasses, 1/4 tsp. of liquid dish soap) makes a NON-SELECTIVE herbicide . NOTE: Good lawn maintenance reduces compaction and strengthens turf which can suppress weeds. Fertilize several times each year, mow regularly, spray monthly with Medina Plus, water deeply when necessary, and apply ½” of compost to lawn twice a year. This mixture will kill any plant so be careful not to get it on plants you want to keep. You will likely have to apply the weed killer more than once especially on poison ivy and grasses.
