Can you ferment tomato juice?

You can ferment just about any botanical.....the real question you want to ask is "would I want to drink fermented tomato juice"? Probably not.....

To ferment tomato juice you would need to adjust the acidity to the correct level so as not to kill the yeast, you'd likely need to add some fermentable sugar (dextrose) as well, but like I suggested, the end result will likely be....well.....yuck!

FYI Sauerkraut is fermented, natural pickles, salami, yogurt and a host of other foods you likely never think of as fermented.

Yes. I have a couple of recipes for tomato wine but have never made any - - or wanted to.
